Google becomes first Russia IT firm to receive turnover fine
MOSCOW, Dec 24 (PRIME) – Google has become Russia’s first IT company to receive a 7.2 billion ruble turnover fine for Google for repeated non-deletion of banned information, a spokesperson for the Tagansky District Court of Moscow told PRIME on Friday.
“A ruling of magistrate of court 422 of the Tagansky District of Moscow in an administrative offense case…Google has been found guilty…Punishment is set in the form of a fine of 7,221,916,235 rubles,” the court said.
According to the single base of Moscow courts, the clause of the Administrative Offenses Code was applied for the first time.
A similar report will be heard later on Friday against Meta Platforms, earlier working as Facebook.
